Tirion, Welsh for 'gentle', is sent away from home by 'Master eyes-and-ears' - her stepfather. She is given the job of Spidercatcher - even though she hates spiders almost as much as she hates her stepfather!
Built in 1530 for Dafydd ap Richard Llancaiach Fawr Manor was designed to be easily defended during the turbulent reigns of Tudor kings and queens.

When Civil War broke out between King and Parliament in 1642 Colonel Prichard was actively involved in raising men and money for the Royalist cause in Glamorganshire.
