Long, long ago, the sky was so close to the earth it shut out all light. Dark was the land, dark and cold. So low was the sky, all living things were forced to crawl around in the darkness. It might still be that way if it hadn’t been for the magpies.
“Why can’t we raise the sky?” They asked.
“It’s too heavy,” the others replied.
“Not if we all work together,” cried the magpies. But as always happens when there is work to do, no one was ready to help. “Then well do it alone.
One day a meeting was called to raise the sky. “I think we should eat the sky away, “said a fat magpie.
“No, that won’t work,”said a strong magpie. Then the chief magpie entered. Suddenly a small magpie ran in and said “I have an idea. We will split into four teams and pick up the corners of the sky.”
“That’s a stupid idea!” said all the magpies.
“That’s…..that’s perfect!” said chief magpie Flaps. “Well sort out the teams then.”
The next day all the magpies were ready. Flaps gave the signal by flapping his wings as hard as he could. It looked like four black clouds flying to the corners. They picked up the corners and all took strain. It hurt but they continued. They could only hear squawking.
Suddenly it became warm and light. “It worked! It really worked!” yelled every magpie jumping in amazement. They cheered and loved the young magpie and he said a speech. “As long as we work together anything is possible.”
And to this day you will hear the magpie’s happy shout as the sun gives light and warmth to the world.

Long, long ago in an oak tree there lived the first ever bee hive. In the bee hive there was the queen bee. She was very sad because all over the town everyone kept steeling her honey.
One day in a hive there lived a queen bee she was so sad and everyone knew why she was sad. It was because all over one little town people kept taking all of her honey and even though the bee hive was sticky they didn’t really care.
One day when people were lining up to get honey. The queen bee was so angry she just couldn’t take it any more and one rude person said “what you going to do about it,” all the others laughed.
When they all went she got messenger and made him go and send a message to Rebekah the goddess of problems the messenger told Rebekah what has happened Rebekah understood what was happening. So she came up with a brilliant idea. So she said to the messenger “tell the queen I will make her a gift,” the messenger flew of and told the queen.
When the queen heard about the news she held a meeting and told everyone about the good news. The bees cheered with joy.
Rebekah had made a stinger for everyone of them it took her seven days to make the stingers. One morning the stingers were made she sent the stingers to the bee hive but when they got there there was a note saying “be careful for can use this as much as you like but if you use it to much something will happen.”
One day the bees went to Rebekah under the raspberry tree so they could ask Rebekah to put their stinger on. When the stingers were fixed on they kept using and using it and because the kept using it Rebekah only let them have one sting per stinger.
And to this day forward this is how bees got their sting and don’t be very greedy going to get some honey from a bees hive because the bees can sting you as you have heard.
